    Save the Date!

2009 Pacific Northwest Milwaukee Modelers/MilWest Meet
    October 3rd and 4th

This year Cascade Rail Foundation and MilWest are partnering to hold a special 2-day combined event that includes the Pacific Northwest Milwaukee Modelers Meet and the annual MilWest Meet. The meet will feature model displays, presentations, and slide shows.

The event will be held at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center near North Bend, WA on October 3 and 4. This venue is located at the former site of the Cedar Falls yard and is where we held the first PNW Modelers Meet last year. Attendees of that event will be glad to hear that they have recently upgraded the lighting in their facility.

More details will be released as we get closer to the event. Plan now to come and join us in celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Milwaukee Road Puget Sound Extension. [If you have questions, please contact me directly at the email address below - I don't check TrainBoard on a regular basis.]

Proceeds from this event benefit Cascade Rail Foundation. Cascade Rail Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the memory of the Milwaukee Road in the state of Washington. Our primary focus is the preservation and operation of the South Cle Elum Rail Yard Historic District in partnership with Washington State Parks. You can learn more about us and our activities at our web site.

Well, the room isn't any bigger this year but we're planning to manage things a bit differently this time. We'll probably have models on display part of the day on Saturday, then put things away and set up chairs for presentations.

I am hoping that I can make it (I already blew the Portland N scale collector's convention due to circumstances mostly beyond my control) and that I will have something to show, although I think at my stage I will be learning a lot more than I will be teaching.

ACK! Make that 3 of us. I've got a couple other October events going on this year, so we won't be making the drive north again. Next year!

Last year was a really fantastic event. Keep us posted on the event, please!

I guess I have a general question. Is this all-scales?

"All-scales" should mean modeling represented by any size.... from T to G and more.

That's what I meant. I was wondering if this meet is all-scales. Sometimes when someone doesn't specify a scale they really mean HO. That's more of an issue for clubs or for manufacturers of supplies (HO ads are notorious for not including the scale) than for organizers of meets.

    Oops. Misread. :tb-embarrassed:

Surely scale would not be restricted. Well, unless it's a "live" steam sized entry- Due to space available. They might monitor the number of entries, or have a set space available per person.

I'd guess that it might be a good idea to make arrangements well ahead of time.

I am thinking N scale. Assuming I could make it, I could always leave the N scale in a box if it wasn't somehow permitted.
