I got a 2x6 module that I want to use for hon3 to plug into my buddies other modules. Does any one know of track plans I can use that would represent a specific location along the d&rgw? I've been searching but coming up with nothing. Thank you.
None come into mind, for a module. Do you have a favorite portion of their narrow gauge lines, to narrow it down some?
Nothing specific, just something with a couple spurs with maybe a cattle pen and a spur for maybe tank cars. Would like to put a water tower as well.
In the space of two by six, you can have a nice scene, but I have a feeling it will be compressed. So why not just take a bit of modelers license, and free lance something which would just give a good feel for a D&RGW NG scene of years past? Our late Moderator, Wolfgang Dudler had some nice modules done that way. Have you seen his work? It should be here in the NG Forum. And maybe on his web site, which a few weeks back, was still up and working.
Wolfgang's site: http://www.westportterminal.de/wt.html Also, try searching here for Silver Creek or Silver Valley. Embarrassing- I cannot remember which is the name of his modular HOn3 layout. There were also some posts in the HO and Inspection Pit forums.
You were right with both. It appears that Silver Creek is a part of the Silver Valley line. http://www.westportterminal.de/silver_valley.html With 2' x 6', you could really have some fun. Maybe a wooden truss bridge over a creek coming up on a cattle pen on the edge of town. Andy Tetsu Uma
Thanks for the help guys. Over the weekend I built the 2x6 frame and decided to build the famous inglenook siding. I like it on the 2x6, there is plenty of room and open land for a couple small industry and a small town. Might have to add a creek with a little bridge (good idea). I used micro engineering flex track code 70 for the main and 55 every where else. Also used micro engineering turnouts. Maybe ill post some pics. Thanks again.
