Hello, I was wondering if anyone here has some tips for installing a three way stub switch. When I currently run cars over it they derail where the tracks come together. It is a cream city turnout switch code 70. Thanks, Alex
I don't know what you mean. I have a 3-way switch...the wiring isn't elegant...but I have no derailments (mine is hand laid). If you don't have an NMRA HOn3 track gauge, get one. Use it to check the turnout. (it sounds like the frog may be the issue). Then, check that the wheelsets are in gauge (if the same car or two keeps derailing, that may be the problem). Third, presuming that you are using kadee couplers, check to make sure that the trip pin isn't catching on the rail. There is nothing magical about three-way stub switches other than that they are considerably tougher to build than two-way stub switches. Michael
