The Central Coast Chapter, NRHS (Hal Lewis) and the San Bernardino Railway Historical Society have announced that AT&SF 4-8-4 3751 will dust off her cobwebs and get steamed up and run from LAUPT (Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal) to San Diego and return, along the old SP coast line, on June 1, 2008. I challenge anyone wishing to ride, to find the websites selling tickets. I know where they are. This engine needs to get out and run again. One of the finest restorations in the USA.

Underwhelming response. OK, here's the link to the ticket sales. As of St. Patrick's Day, the dome is sold out.

Change of subject: Has anyone on the board received their copy of TRAINS mag special, "Steam Today," featuring what its title says? Great coverage of today's real steam operating in the USA.

I see the S-2 was at the CSRM for a long time. I hope there is enough left of the engine to make it to San Diego. Their track record on stored equipment is questionable.
