Here are four 89' Flatcars I built after different prototypes. They still need Hitches, Couplers and Trucks. Weathering will follow along with Trailers.
Did you scratchbuild these, or are they kits? I would be interested in any scratchbuilding techniques for these (although I'd apply them to N scale). They look good.
Lots of styrene. The flush side flats are made by E&D models with scratchbuilt parts added.
Eddie, do you plan to use the Roadrailers for trailers? I thought about getting those, but I am way overbudget. Are you going to use the hitches from the kit or are you going to make your own. My biggest complaint about the kit are the hitches. It just doesn't look right.
Ok, when they are ready to order I'll hook you up. :tb-biggrin: No, the roadrailers will be roadrailers. I'm building a UPSZ so 80% of the trailers will be 28' UPS Pups and 45' UPS Trailers. The other 15% will be 45' BNSF Z Trailers and 5% 28' Overnight Trailers. Maybe over the years I'll put together a 53' Trailer Train, but I would build the Triple 53's for that. :tb-wink: The hitches will be scratch built.
Eddie, You'd better be bringing these to Pleasanton Thanksgiving weekend (or SFO Airport the weekend before). .
