I've heard that there are a few old Pullman cars in NY right now. they were apparently part of the inaugural train in the early forties. Does anyone know about them? Who owns them, where pictures can be found, what condition they are in, etc. Thank you for your help. (my hope is to buy one, if they are mechanically sound or can be cheaply made so)
Welcome to the New York Cenral forum. I was going to refer you to the NYC forum over on railroad.net, but see that you have found that one as well. If you don't get an answer on this forum or rrnet, there is no answer!
Well you too can have them in your signature. Just go take a look at the smileys library here on Trainboard. I chose the little dudes with the beer steins because they are me.
Ron, do you have the text of rule G? I have heard about it but never seen the text. Also when was it published? I seem to remember hoggers carrying little flat bottles in their hip pockets years ago.
Jim The oldest rule book I have is Oct 20,1913 for the New York Central (of course) and it reads thus: "The use of intoxicants by employes while on duty is prohibited.Their use,or the frequenting of places where they are sold, is sufficient cause for dismissal."
John, find the link that says "Site Map" and click on it, or else leave Trainboard and come back, as it is the opening page. Scroll down to "Smilies Gallery" and open it. Not only is there a whole bunch to chose from, but next to each is the very UBB code you need. Cut it, go to your signature, and paste it where you want it. You can thank our leader Charlie for that convenience.
