1. All challenges close at 12 midnight (24:00 hours) Eastern Standard Time on Monday 27th August 2007, and will be noted with a "Time's up!" post within the thread. 2. Please use the challenge as a motive to take a new photograph rather than using a photograph that you have taken in the past. 3. Challenges are open to everyone, have fun!! 4. Though not required, commenting on other peoples pictures is encouraged. 5. Only one image per participant so please choose the image carefully. 6. Any posts with images taken before the commencement of the challenge will be deleted. 7. For photos to be eligible they must be taken between the 24th and 27th of August 2007. 8. Ensure dates and times on your camera are correct. I look forward to seeing many contributors, remember this is to encourage all modellers to take a shot of the subject rather than post a photo taken in the past.
Would "Regional" be defined as anything from a short line to a small class one? MRL, Tex Mex, Wisconsin Central and many others come to mind. Its a model contest so take a photo of a box car from some small railroad or a free lance road you are modeling. Hmmm....I have a San Antonio & Pacific car I could shoot.
So I take it like Russell said anything will count from like MRL to DM&E, to some little RR like City of Prineville? If so I have some stuff!!!
Although my photos aren't as good as Flash's (I don't have a layout yet, but hope to soon), here are a couple locos from my N scale shortline the Maple Leaf Central: MLC#93 and high hood SD35#27:
Maple Leaf Central is a good paint scheme. It's simple and believable. I would think that is the way railroads would think in order to keep expenses down.
Love that scheme Curn - where did you get your decals from? I've been wanting to do #46 for ages! Well done!
I designed them in Coral Draw and had Scale Rail Graphics print them. I could send you the file and you can have them printed where ever you want. Maybe someone here with an Alps printer would be kind enough? They are N scale and made to fit over the Atlas GP9. If you notice there are holes in the lettering for door hinges and I don't know how well those would line up for a model in a different scale.
Thanks, that car was my first real weathering project. I liked it and so the car got dull coated it, I thought the car was too weathered but everyone that has seen it say WOW.
