    1. All challenges close at 12 midnight (24:00 hours) Eastern Standard Time on Monday 17th March 2008, and will be noted with a "Time's up!" post within the thread.
    2. Please use the challenge as a motive to take a new photograph rather than using a photograph that you have taken in the past.
    3. Challenges are open to everyone, have fun!!
    4. Though not required, commenting on other peoples pictures is encouraged.
    5. Only one image per participant so please choose the image carefully.
    6. Any posts with images taken before the commencement of the challenge will be deleted.
    7. For photos to be eligible they must be taken between the 15th March and 17th of March 2008.
    8. Ensure dates and times on your camera are correct.

I look forward to seeing many contributors, remember this is to encourage all modellers to take a shot of the subject rather than post a photo taken in the past.

OK. It was really hard for me to decide between this picture and another. But I thought this was the best one.

One of the pioneers in streamlining was the CB&Q. After one of their early articulated Zephyr train sets was destroyed while assigned to the Sam Houston Zephyr they replaced it with an E-5 and a five car train. Here locomotive 9909, the Silver Bullet, is streaking across the Texas prairies on its way from Dallas to Houston.

Lima built the best Locomotives in the world. Here are two examples of Lima craftmanship in passenger and freight Locomotives. Cast pilots, skyline cowling, all say power and grace build into a machine hammered out of steel. The draftsmen at Lima didn't have to build them this way, but they did. At an age that knew no computers, these masters of the slide ruler and pencil drew the plans for these beasts that have remained the most beautiful Locomotives in the world over 50yrs later. That is nothing short of amazing!

The poll has been posted although I must say a very disappointing number of entries.

sorry, I didn't see that it had started again, or I would have gotten an entry in, especially with me being a passenger train nut.

Small number of entries, indeed, but I think the quality of these entries more than makes up for the low quantity. Nice photos all!

There were probably some, like me, who left his only streamliner of any sort at this clubhouse, and didn't have time to go take any pictures because of other things. In my case, I went to the beach, and only just got back yesterday.
