1. All challenges close at 12 midnight (24:00 hours) Eastern Standard Time on Monday 31st March 2008, and will be noted with a "Time's up!" post within the thread. 2. Please use the challenge as a motive to take a new photograph rather than using a photograph that you have taken in the past. 3. Challenges are open to everyone, have fun!! 4. Though not required, commenting on other peoples pictures is encouraged. 5. Only one image per participant so please choose the image carefully. 6. Any posts with images taken before the commencement of the challenge will be deleted. 7. For photos to be eligible they must be taken between the 29th March and 31st of March 2008. 8. Ensure dates and times on your camera are correct. I look forward to seeing many contributors, remember this is to encourage all modellers to take a shot of the subject rather than post a photo taken in the past.
While the spring weather has everything looking fresh and new, years of weather have weathered these wooden Sugar Beet cars into wore out wood and metal shells. One can only imagine how much longer they would have lasted. Unfortunatly, the end of the unit Sugar Beet trains is only months away, and except for a few that made it to museums or were left on forgotten sidings, all would be gone and scrapped.
I want to enter, but I can't figure out how to get the time and date stamp to show up on a photo. I've seen them before, but never on my Canon A620. Does anyone know how to 'turn' this function on? Read both manuals and couldn't figure it out. I notice the above entries don't have time and dates. Being fairly new here at TB is there something I don't know about these contests? Cheers, Jim CCRR
Don't worry about that; just enter the picture. The time, date, pixel size, camera type, and many other photo parameters are recorded automatically as exif data. You can read this on (most) any photo with the proper computer application. In other words, you can't turn the data off even if you want to; it is already imbedded every time you take a photo. The data you are speaking of is the ability to read the data at the same time you view the photo. Clear? Someone help here! Besides, Colonel will take your word for it anyway.
I just looked at your photos that you have posted and they all have the information needed. Click on the little camera icon under your image and it brings up the EXIF Information that shows the date the photo was taken.
Poll has been posted, a special welcome to Peter Nolan I think this is his first entry into this contest
