DENVER - A train collided with a semi truck on Tuesday morning, closing a major thoroughfare. It happened around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Kalamath and Bayaud in Denver. Southbound Kalamath was closed at First Avenue because of the crash. Authorities say the semi was turning left from Bayaud onto southbound Kalamath when it was hit by the train. The train was apparently moving at a very slow speed when it hit the truck. The wreckage ended up against a utility pole and a railroad crossing signal. There appears to be no injuries, but the crash did damage an Xcel Energy utility pole. There is no word if there were any service disruptions. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
