    Hi Tim,
Welcome Aboard! I hope you are enjoying TrainBoard. The picture is of an old GP38 that has undoubtedly seen a few miles...

I bet you have some good B&O stories to share with us! What was your favorite B&O loco?

thanks Harold, I liked running the B&O GP38's best they were really nice for just about anything. too bad they're gone. I had #2121 (CSXT #) for a few times, it had a feel like no other. it's my favorite. :D

Since #2121 is your favorite, I dug up a photo of it (courtesy the CSX photo archives site):

But actually they may be around.... recycled! A lot of old GP38's went to M-K and became fodder for the GP38-3 rebuild program.

I know you guys like those B & O units, but the paint scheme was a bit . . well . . . plain! They look much better in the current CSX colours, IMO

    Alan,
Yes, you are correst.... those were the "austere years" where the locos were painted as simply (read:cheaply) as possible.
However, things changed drastically with the Chessie era.

Ah, that explains the boring paint job :D Instead of the plain B & O, they would have looked much better with the logo, was it a domed building in a circle? Any pictures?

edit: Just went back and had a look at the first picture. The logo is on the front. A larger version of that, on the sides would have looked better.
