"Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while." I FINALLY FOUND A NUT!! LOL!!! I picked up a Bachmann 2-8-0 over the weekend off Ebay. What a pleasant surprise. (My last Bman Spectrum purchase hasn't been such a good experience.) This little thing looks good and pulls great. I'm impressed. And for $40.00, woo-hoo!!:thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
Great little engines. I have 3 of them. Once the wheels are set to NMRA tolerances they run perfectly and look super hauling my branch line freight and mixed trains.
I missed one last week that went ended up going for about $50.00. I slipped up and got outbid by a couple bucks. Just as well, I got a better deal on this one. Like you Bob, I can see a couple more of these in my future. I need to get a decoder for this little gem.
Funny...that's the same term I hear on the golf course when I finally hit one. Yep, right now I'm incredibly bad but I won't stop practicing until I'm accomplished as a below-average golfer. It's possible that I'm too optimistic. Russ
I've got five of them since they first came out 8 years ago (where does the time go?), the 2-8-0 along with the Heavy Mountain and the 44 tonner is one of the N scale engines Bachmann has gotten right.
