A new member here from the Houston area (Katy). Just returning to NScale after a few(!) years hiatus. I made a (long overdue) visit to a LHS and saw the code 55 track.

The stuff just looked so dang cool...

So I bought a few pieces just to see if my locos and rolling stock will have "the issue" I've heard so much about. This is what I bought.

    Any Suggestions?

Edit (Well this took a few times but I finally managed to get the silly image to show...

Sheesh...one would think I've never done this before... :D

    Tom,

Welcome to trainboard and also back to N scale.

I would do a switching layout with a few points to allow you to test the code 55. You want to ensure you can switch your exsiting locomotives and rollingstock.

Look forward to watching your progress. If you have any questions about this site feel free to email me.

Depending on how old your engines and rolling stock are, You may find yourself favoring anything new you purchase as the operating charactereristics are much better. I have quite a few older engines but they never seem to make to the track anymore, for that very same reason.

Got three designs so far. I guess it's a matter of how much space do you want to take up, eh?

    Tom:

You can cut your 4x8' in half and elongate the trackplan in design #3 or make an "L" shaped layout using two 2x8's.

    Have fun track planning.
