Great news from a great manufacturer!! Of course, the next question is... when? The Maxi III's that we just got were first announced with a poster like this at the October 2003 show in Las Vegas. That's just under two years - for a single new car model. George has been very candid (here and elsewhere) about the challenges of bringing new products to market, and it's hard not to be sympathetic to those. So we'll just need to keep in mind we might be looking at new product posters for the next two, three or even four years!
It's about time, geesh! I'm still going to get Alan Curtis kits though. They must sense that I'll be having many, many intermodals on the mainline.
Does anyone else think that the ad copy on the spine cars suggests the models will have collapsable hitches?
My guess is there may be hitches cast in a raised or lowered position that the modeler can swap out as desired (like the Walthers HO spines). Russ
Sure am glad I decided to put the extension on the layout for the intermodal terminal. There is so much neat stuff coming out..
With all this good stuff coming out, I'm going to be forced to built a larger layout with intermodal exchange. You know, just gonna have to do it! Bummer
