    Hi to all
and hope not too late for my best wishes of an happy new year!
My problem in short: to avoid to take wires for the engine motor from the Soundtraxx-750 installed inside the tender, I'm thinking to install a BEMF little decoder inside the boiler (Zimo or Lenz just to give you the idea). So I have one decoder for the motor+front led and the other only for sound and tender led.
Now the question: on the Soundtraxx I need to emulate the motor load in order to be able to read CVs. What best? A resistor (will dissipate heat?) - a coil or what else? Value?
I know I can ask directly to Bruce Petrarca at Litchfield Station, Home Page ....
but maybe a public answer is useful to some others?
Thanks in advance for any address .
    Cheers

It'll have to be a resistor I think - it's not AC so a coil won't cut it (unless large enough to get the resistance up).
To reduce heat dissipation you could adjust the 'sound' decoder CVs so the max motor speed is very low.

A 100 ohm, 2 Watt resistor should do the trick. If you don't run the speed up (i.e., just for programming and testing), lower wattage should be OK as well.
