Ok being from other side of planet, what would they be draggin with 8 (or is the green a loco too?) loco? Nice clean photo too!
okay, i HAVE to ask, did you get a car count? im tempted to ask for the date, and call BNSF personally and ask them what the **** they were pulling!!!! or maybe it was like a 5 car train, and they were just showing off...... hehe, i think we should lash up every bit of power that every railroad has in the US and have a tug of war, but thats just me....
I like that last picture much better! Lots of the green SD40-2s I see around these parts are marked with FURX under the cab (so are some of the H1 SD40-2s). I agree with the guy who guessed it looked like a power transfer.
Bob, Cheyenne,WY sees lots of 'Deuces still. BNSF usually has them on some train daily. Usually as well, they are furby's! It is getting increasingly hard to get a patched BNSF unit, much less anything unpatched! Not a 'Deuce, but unpatched. Didn't have the time in Photoshop to chop out the BNSF letters... Well, mostly unpatched...
I still see some greenies running through Denver with the Coal Train but never carry my digital when I'm home so I never catch the local action.
I'd see scads of Green when I was living in Portland, Furx, Patched, unpatched. Very few Whitefaces though.
Quite a few SD40-2s in Santa Fe, BN and Beansniff HI on unit rock trains around here. About half the greens are lettered FURX. Once in a while, an SD45-2 or two will show up in either HI or blue & yellow
Lots of photo fun guys... I see quite a few leasers that are ex-BN (or BNSF) I haven't even thought about using Photoshop to "correct" them... Harold
That's the first one I tried, although, this one is a natural for 'reconfiguration': This one too, was a quick and dirty attempt at undoing lessor markings: Before: After:
