OK, we have a topic devoted to SD40-2's and other -2 locos, under the 'Deuces thread... Now, let's see your SD70ACes!!! Blossburg, MT on Mullan Pass summit:
UP 1995 leading the last two unrepainted CNW locomotives westbound through Rochelle Railroad Park on March 11, 2007.
Before the yellow scotchlite tape became FRA mandate, this newer ACe was westbound thru Cheyenne in 2005:
Yup, it's down to these two that have not been patched yet. We saw a couple other units earlier in the day that were repainted but had the nose bell indicating CNW heritage (I oughta go through and post those somewhere too).
I'm still waiting to bag my first Ace. Apparently not many Ace's are sent down the old C&I. Great Shots Everyone!!!
I should have climbed up that slope, I love that elevated angle! Very nice! I guess I was tired of snow being packed in my shoes, socks, jeans, and being cold...
Maybe it is the angle and the framing but it sure looks like the grade is grueling in this shot. Kinda like around tunnel 1! Nice shot by the way!!!
2.2%.... It is grueling! I have not had the pleasure to see/hear/feel a WB double grinding thru here, but someday I hope to! Tunnel 1 on the Moffat is similar, maybe due to the lay of the land, but it looks steeeeep!
