It's been posted before, but since John's post on the GG-1 Review, I thought it is worth posting the link again. John Cubbin has put together a wealth of Z Scale knowledge to share with Z Scalers new and old. Lots of great info and reading there. Ztrains Definetly worth a visit. -Robert
Absolutely a must web site for Z scalers! If you have never cleaned or taken apart your z-scale steamers, this site is an excellent source with great pictures to take you through it step by step. Heck with a little practice you can have the brushed and motor cleaned and reassebled in 10-15 minutes! If you run your z trains, this is something you need to do, unless of course you have enough funds to pay someone else to do it. which I don't!
Hi Guys, Thanks very much for the nice words, it's appreciated! It's very rewarding to know these articles get read. The article like the GG1 was tough because there's just so much really interesting information on it, I didn't want to leave any out. The GG1 history reads like a history of the east coast of the US from the late 1930s on. As far as breaking down steamers to clean them... be careful... it's very addictive... LOL! I clean mine (admittedly) far more often than is necessary, but I'm hooked! John http://www.ztrains.com
