Sitting in North Auburn siding, waiting for the Sounders and Amtrak to roll thru, is a little local with big power! There's always a prototype to our model trains!
Don't worry about hooking up a weird consist. The Prototypes probably have done it first. I watched 12 heavy freight diesels go by at 69 mph with one (1) boxcar. OKAAY? Only later did I learn that CSX rules require dead-head engines go no faster than 35 mph, regardless of track speed. However, they can go at track speed if they are pulling a train. You guessed it, a "train" can consist of ONE car, as long as it has a FRED on the rear coupler. Like I said, do whatever you want, the big boys have done it first.
This one is actually still a full service caboose, has the truck generator and all. Even a heater inside. Nice horn too, for back-up moves!
Caught the local switching cars out again, this time in the plant! Short train today, big power, lol! Crew riding IN the caboose!
