Two trains meet between Lillestrøm and Leirsund on the three track line. The highspeed tracks goes to the airport at Gardermoen. There are two highspeed tracks and one local track here. The three car EMU is the airport train, BM71. The blue four unit set is BM73, the long distance train.
Boxcab You find an excellent detail map here: web page but it requires some work from you... you must "walk the line"... *You must press the button named STEDSNAVN *then write Gardermoen in the longest search field *press enter *then press the search result and voila the result is a map over the airport *then use the crosshairs to move around. The high speed line goes in a long tunnel between Lillestrøm and Oslo. [ 03. July 2004, 06:40: Message edited by: greffern ]
This country is absolutely not the right place for high speed lines. I think that curves occupy more place than straights here. If you look at the topography of Norway you will find that Norway consist of one mountainrange the length of Europe and stretching beyond the arctic circle. Some places are snowfree from middle of june till start of september. I think 200 km/h is a high speed here. Anything higher and you must build the world longest tunnell running straight lines to every destination. That is too expensive. There are plans for quicker trains on specially build new lines, but I would wait and see if those plans end up in something. [ 06. July 2004, 18:35: Message edited by: greffern ]
