I went to to Thonburi station for a micro dose of train. Thonburi station used to be originating point for southbound/westbound trains now reduced to 5-6 local/commuter trains a day. Enjoy the show. Thonburi- Lang Suan local train Krupp diesel-hydraulic loco no. 3121 brought Ratchaburi-Thonburi commuter into the station UM12C No.4044 waits for a clear track to assemble a new train conductor gives the go for the departure
A new look on old power old rolling stock waiting for the torch/plasma cutter we're good for the trip to Nam Tok I conclude this trip with the picture named "Good roll-by let's go"
Great Pics. Can't imagine us Brits walking along the track like that. We're good at the following though... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/southern_counties/6182155.stm
Carolyne, that was extreme. the guy was really lucky that he wasn't run over or fried by the third rail. SRT sometime has to deal with suicide-on-track cases I have my prayers out for the train crews who has to pull/scrape/hose the human remains off the train.:unhappy:
There have unfortunately been a few deaths on the railways over the last few months here in the UK. Some extreme measures are taken to ensure folks like the above cannot access the tracks but the odd one gets through. As you say, I feel for the drivers.
In the USA many Amtrak locomotive engineers call it "Culling the herd". No matter what the railways do to keep tresspassers off the property, some seem to slip through.
Nice photos. I get to Thailand a couple times each year. This makes me want to take some time to watch and photograph trains.
