    Hi Fabrizio
You certainly do have a lot of photos and a well laid out web site. I am curious about one of the electric locomotives which seems to have a double pantagraph that rides on two catanary wires. Could you explain how this works?
    Thanks.

About three years ago, my wife bought me a set of video tapes about European Railways. One was dedicated to Italy. Had never before seen trains from your country. Have watched it many times now. Fascinating!

    Fabrizio, welcome to Trainboard [IMG]

I moved your post to the Europe forum so maybe more people will see it.

Your website is wonderful! You have a very good selection of Italian trains. I have only had time to have a quick look, but have saved your site in my favourites, so I can come back for a better look.

The water effect on the index photos is amazing!

Did you ever have any problems taking pictures of trains, as I understand the Italian authorities can be a bit unwilling to allow this, or are things easier now?

Hi! Thank you all for your congratulations!

    Sorry for my bad English!!!

Alan, you are right! Here in Italy policemen often don't allow us to take photos in the stations and in the deposits... but few months ago I fortunately found out a norm that says that it's allowed to take photos in the stations without support.
So, when I show the norm, I have no more problems...

Signalguy: the locomotives you talk about are called "trifase". This means that these locomotives worked by alternated current.
They were used in Lombardia, Piemonte, Liguria, Toscana, Emilia - Romagna, Lazio and Abruzzo (Italian regions) and in Switzerland from 1901 to 1976 (Piemonte and Liguria).

Thanks for the information Fabrizio. I had never seen any photos of this type locomotive before. We learn something new every day.

I love your website Fabrizio - I am a big fan of Italian railways.

I have posted some of my own pictures of Italian trains from time to time on Trainboard but unless it is possible for you to gain access to the archives I am not sure if you will be able to view them now.

    Ben

I have opened a forum: you can find the link in the home page!

For Signalguy: next months I hope I'll upload some photos about "trifase" locomotives!
I love them very much, too!!!
