We are seeing people bringing politics into conversations here on TrainBoard, both overtly and some which are sliding theirs in less obviously, yet deliberately. A reminder that no matter where you are on this site, politics, excepting within a railroad historical context, are strictly prohibited.

Let us please keep TrainBoard a peaceful refuge from the pressures of life outside of our hobby.

    Thank you.

As long as President Truman is rail friendly, all is good for me

Obviously, the 'Board can choose such things for itself, but we should all understand that avoidance of political talk is de facto support for current systems and policies, and as such is apolitical statement itself.

But it's quickly getting to the point where anything else will get you censored and deplatformed. That makes silence the strongest dissent possible.

Recently left another forum because things got so bad there. Don't want to see it happen here too.

I was asked by a reporter after I voted in 2000 who I voted for. My reply was simple, "I pissed off half of the country"

By opening up Pandora's Box, it will digress into name calling and temper tantrums. I don't want to see adults act like kindergartners over politics. Let's keep this simple and leave the conversation about Left and Right be about switches/turnouts/points....

The first train club I was a member of taught me all I wanted to know about politics and not enough about trains. Now our club does its best to avoid politics (unless it is a politician on a whistlestop tour...and even then we try to switch their train thru the layout as quickly as possible).

Just make sure that there are no bureaucrats working the switches, they may need to verify and validate the decision to throw the switch and then evaluate the overall outcome before attempting to form the committee that is going to be responsible for creating the contract and to then again verify the environmental impact as well as all the necessary requirements for the person who is qualified for the job to do the job. Mind you the Bureaucrat will get paid $100K for his part of the job, and poor guy at the end, who actually throws the switch, will be told he should be happy to do it for $10.:p

'Pro' being the opposite of 'con' explains why Con-gress is the opposite of Pro-gress ;)
