no I have not used it before but I just did a search on the woodland scenics website and it list information on how to: it advised to allow layers to dry but not how long it took to dry

heres the url if you want to look for someone to contact

being that it is latex I would not think it would take very long but proly depends on how thick you put it on

Thank Allen! I'm in the process of making some scenic stuff too (tunnel portals) that I'm going to be selling, an when I got to read the bottle itself, It didn't say how long it takes to dry! So..... I'm just going to leave it set in the mold witness box for awhile (a week or so) before I trust pulling it out. I don't want to harm or ruin anything, an its better left in the molding witness box, I made.

You can go, HERE to see what I'm using this Latex "Molding Making" Rubber for. So... I'm being as pateint as very possible.

And yes, I had to use it pretty thick, so, I know its going to take extra curing time. But THANKS!

The normal way of using latex is to apply multiple thin layers. The first layer is usually made with the latex thinned a little with water so that it adhears to all the fine detail. Then additional layers are added as the previous layer dries. After several layers have been applied, gauze cloth can be applied in between layers to add strength to the mold. Drying times will vary with humidity and temperture.

If the layers are too thick you will find that it takes forever to dry. The outside will dry which will prevent the moisture on the inside from getting out. That is why thin layers are required.

    David,
The layers are pretty thick! About 1/8th inch to be exact! So.. I know Its going to take time, plus a made a cast block with it from plaster, poured in on top of the Latex rubber. So, I'll leave it cure for awhile.... being as you said, its going to take awhile to cure!

    THANKS for the information!
