Hi all. Having recently begun to work with this useful tool I nearly finished to set my future Z scale mexican empire in less than 4 days (can't count how many days I should have had to use, had I processed with the classic pencil and paper method...)! But there's a point I'm facing with: I didn't find any tool allowing to set a backdrop on a peninsula. Any thoughts or tricks to share here? Dom
The recent Model Railroader magazine just reviewed 3 CAD packages, altough more of a simple overview, more like an introduction. There were more reviews on their website. I have tried a few CAD packages and they all had cumbersome user interfaces or comepletely different feel from classic drafting CAD. I should should try learn them to make life easy, like you did . .
http://www.theliquidateher.com/railroad-windows.html I wasn't aware Abracadata was still in business. Some of there programs date back to the 80's. Anyome running Mac X is out of luck. Not sure if it runs at all under W7 or WV.
Hi Jeff, that really saves time. Myself I'm amazed with the result I came to as I only began to use the software a week ago... I recommend this kind of software for everybody who plans his future Z scale empire! Dom
It looks like Abracadata doesn't exist anymore under this name. I guess they've been merged or purchased. However the program is still distributed. Don't know whether it has been upgraded. http://www.theliquidateher.com/3drrconceptanddesign-windows.html http://www.trains.com/mrr/default.aspx?c=a&id=3486 Mine is an old sample, I purchased it many years ago without ever using it until last week. It is said to be used with Windows 95/98/NT, or MacIntosh PowerMac. Although it has been released in a pre-Windows XP era I run it without any problem on my XP-equipped computer. Dom
For Jeff: about the ease and rapidity with which one learns to use this kind of stuff, a sample of my future Z-scale empire. I began working on it (as well as on the software) only one week ago... Dom
