Been looking at some Euro Trains that run on AC. I have a DC HO setup. Would it be as simple as swapping my layouts power transformer from DC to AC to run these trains or is it more complicated? Thanks.
It depends which manufacturer you are looking for. I think that mostly Marklin does AC trains, and they use a 3-rail system, either with a solid middle rail or separate contact "points" in the middle of each tie. So to run Marklin you will need dedicated tracks. I hope this helps Dirk
