Well heck yes, we gotta take care of them NEC passengers, those dinks out in the boonies, let's say from Chicago to Toronto don't need more than a hot dog & chips on a twelve hour trip. From a recent report they have 3 attendants in the food service car on Acela & they're cutting coach attendants to 1 for up to 4 coacheson long distance trains. No wonder the NATIONAL system outside of the NEC is dying! Reggie Yes, I'm one of those dinks out in the boonies [ 19 February 2002, 06:36: Message edited by: reggierail ]
That IS airline food! You get exactly the same thing, packaging and all on United. Probably comes from the same source. Oh, for the days of the full service diner on trains, but it seems that those, like profitable passenger service are a thing of the past.
