Has anybody operated the Acela Express in Train-Sim? If so what is the highest speed that you have operated at? Any other information would be apprediated too.
AcelaExpress, Welcome to Trainboard!! I have operated the Acela in MSTS. In the practice runs on MSTS (Explore route) there really aren't any rules and you could get her cooking pretty much at top speed. However, if you do one of the simulations, all rules apply and you have to follow all the speed limits (Well not really - but you do want to try and be a good engineer LOL) It warns you when you are overspeed and should you carelessly pass a redblock, the sim is usually over. Very nice graphics and sound though. The route covered on MSTS is the NEC from Philadelphia to Washington DC. There are freeware routes available on the net though that you can download and will give you the NEC up through Connecticut. P.S. I see that you are from Kings County.
