How is your layout setup for the Acela? Because I model the Acela also, and I was just getting different on how people model the Acela.

    Unfortunately,

I have not had the time to create a layout. I just have it going around in a circle. I have thought about what to do for a layout for the last year or so. The prototype just goes from DC to Boston and back. Not much switching or such. In fact, the cars of the prototype are not coupled using traditional couplers. They are bolted together. That's probably why the model is created the way it is.

You could also model the maintenance facility in Ivy City or any one of the Acela facilities along the NEC.

My wife bought me the set because my company manufactures the brakes for the Acela and I have been all over that train. The model is amazing! I am not a rivet counter, but it looks prety prototypical to me. The model tilts and everything!

While we are on this issue, Amtrak purchased a bunch of electric locomotives with the Acela contract. Does anyone know whether any manufacturers are going to model the Acela locomotive? Also, I have heard that MARC has purchased some Acela locomotives. Is this in some manufacturer's plans?

You must be talking about the Acela HHP-8 Locomotive which pulls the Acela Regional Service, the Bach-Man at bachmanntrains.com said that Bachmann most likely will produce the product, the only Acela coming out now is the Acela Express Trainset in N Scale, and is Due sometime this year, retailers already set up the price for the Trainset.
