AC but not the same as one might associated with the AC in your house. If you are talking about the DCC-EX Command Station, yep very inexpensive to put one together and even simpler now than what you read there... About 30 minutes (actually less).. to build the Command Station and they have an auto-installer to put the software on it that is really simple now. Would not be a challenge for you for sure.
