Then at 6 pm on July 1st, the show repeats again back to back for the holiday weekend ending 06:00 Monday July 4th. website - Canada's Greatest Ride http://www.ctvtravel.ca/ click on "Canada's Greatest Ride". Two shots of the camera mounted on the top of this Via F40PH-2 #6412 A brief 3 minute stop in Cobourg to interview three Cobourg Railfans.
Lenny53 wrote The three Cobourg Railfans are - 3rd from left Philip Niles, 5th from left Michael Niles and 6th from left Harold Taylor. Here is a shot of the host (about to give me a hug) - Valerie Pringle a well known on screen personality. Another Cobourg Railfan was involved in the production, he was interviewed on the train between Toronto and Cobourg. I think his name is Milne Hall. A man of doubtful character.
Via cable, we receive one Canadian channel here. Believe it's CISA. I wonder if they'll carry this show? Sure looks interesting! Boxcab E50
What are everyones thoughts on the Greatest Ride so far?? I love to travel by rail and sit and stare at the passing landscape but for a TV show I think CTV could have added a bit more monologue or play by play description of what and where the trip is going. Ten minutes or more of silence while watching the praries pass by is a bit on the boring side. What do you think. Dara
I have emailed them asking if they put it on DVD to let me know. I want to buy a copy. As for silence while watching the prairies pass, that's just my speed. I would enjoy that.
Dara, welcome to Trainboard I would love to see the programmes if they were on DVD, but don't think I would watch all 60 hours at one sitting
I know I wouldn't watch it in one sitting. I bought Shogun on DVD and that is nearly 10 hours long. It took me 2 weekends to watch it all. But 60 hours of this? I'll find time for every minute. Even if it is 30 DVDs!
SD70MACMAN - The highlights of this program will be on CTV and the Discovery Channel. If I'm able to get the dates, I'll post them.
