I had the pleasure of working for the now defunct Allied Model Trains in about 1982 when it was still on Pico in Los Angeles.. Actor, security guard, MRRer,tiny Gary Coleman came in frequently and I once saw him buy about 5 N locos..I talked with him and found him to be as sweet as his smile..He stood about 3-4 feet tall and was thus always looking upward at you and was very energetic and loved trains same as we...Gary died today and I'm teary as I type because he was really a brethren .....He must have led a tough life being so diminutive. Gary loved acting, trains and ladies, but it had to have been hard obtaining these..Being black too must have had its frustrations weighing on him ... Well, he saw the first black president in his life span..At least he saw that...I hope he's in his favorite engine cab now, barelling through the crossing gates , pulling on the whistle rope !!!
Sad News He's definitely had a tough road to travel and it's sad to hear of his passing... :tb-sad: :tb-sad: :tb-sad: :tb-sad:
