So as not to repeat prior entire Oct. 5 post subject, I am not quite sure how we are to 0-5-0 cars which 'depart' with other RR .. A couple of you stated you remove them by hand..Is this literal ? One by one ? Or IS a casette ( almost like a car float) hooked onto edge of bench and several cars, if not all, are rolled onto it by hand and walked away to a convenient shelf or such until cars are 'due back' ?

I would believe that removal by hand should mean they are physically lifted off the payout, and placed elsewhere for temporary storage. I have seen many times where someone, myself included, does on rail switching with their 0-5-0. In my case, usually just to speed up the process, when resetting for another operating session.

Yeah, I guess I'm too often trying to see what everyone else does, when really, as a hobby, one could would should do what one wishes, sees if it turns out nice, and if not, then go to others for help..Usually our instinct over a dubious situation proves to be correct most times anyway; especially concerning RRing as we eventually find the 1:1 and the 87:1 crews have done the very same thing !! So, casette or shoe box, whatever floats your boat, huh ?
Byron, nice L D Gallery..I stumble upon it here and there..
