Upon checking out Micro-Trains website this month, for the March releases, I spied something on the bottom of the Home page that sparked an interest.

    http://www.micro-trains.com

It was a photo of the new Z scale Track System. I had to click on it to see what all the fuss was about. I know that Joe D' has been talking about his scientific works with the new electrical remote for MTL's left and right Turnouts, but it is the other items that interested me more!

Upon clicking the Track link on the Home Page the next page stated that MTL will soon be releasing the following curved track.

    r220mm 45d Curve Track

    r490mm 13d Curve Track

From what I have read in the Z scale forums, this is the curved track that the Module Builders are waiting on. Looks like more modules will be in the works soon!

The way I see it, this is Awesome News!

    Thanks Micro-Trains!

    Hi Tim,

I should know the first of the week as to the release dates. The 220 is long in coming and like others, I can't get my end module done till they show up!

    Cheers

    Joe

    Waiting with undying anticipation!

    Joe D',

Great news this is. Especially the r220mm curved track. This will be an ultimate addition to the current track system including the r490mm addition.

With all the Thrall production, SW-1's, Jeffrey White projects, and my own personal projects (Sanding Tower), I have had no time to work on my Intermodal module. With the r195mm and the r490mm curve track I am having slight clearance issues between tracks in the Intermodal yard. Not enough room for the Ottawa tractors to ferry containers between tracks with working Mi-Jacks taking up all of the room. The r220mm track should help me correct this issue. I greatly look forward in receiving this track.

I was going to work on the module this weekend after working on the SW-1's I have, but I'll put it off till the r220mm curve track is released. I look forward to that release date!

    Thanks Joe D'

This is good news as it gives us a chance to really expand our layouts!

    Hee, heee, heeee

    Sorry,

Well it looks like the 220 will be ready late April early May? I wasn't happy with the way the rails were splaying out on the ends of the track and though it best the tooling be adjusted to make sure things were snug. I'm waiting too...I mean I need a ton of 490mm Radius to do my Dunsmuir module. I have 25 switches and a pile of 1x4's ready to execute!! Those ought to be ready soon too.

    Joe

Another East Coaster very happy to hear about the new track sections!

I have spent that last few months in a holding pattern after stocking up on the first issue of sectional from MTL. I'm personally glad that I only purchased two sets of turn-outs, being like most people I want remote turnouts (stretching across a layout to flip a switch is a pain). The LD (large or large(r) diameter) sections are going to fit the bill.

Thx to Joe and his associates at MTL for getting this next offering on the streets in a very reasonable time frame!
