A NEWBIE QUESTION. THE BACKGROUND, IS THAT A WALLPAPER BOUGHT LIKE THAT OR A SERIES OF PICS ENLARGED? THANKS

Nicely done! We don't see too many Katy engines in scale (outside of Paul Cassar's excellent N scale models), and yours are nice!

Never thought I'd admit to missing the John Deere colors.

    Thanks Bob
I live along the old MKT main line to Houston.
The one thats not there anymore. But I grew up along the line and remember these engines.
The light mikes are reworked Athearn mikados with Hallmark tenders. The Katy green are heavy reworked Athearn SD-40's not much left of Athearn in them. Just the cassis and some of the shell. Those 3 units pulled 110 cars at a train show with no problem.
The F-3's are the new Athearn Genisis units.
The "Texas Special" is hallmark brass.

When I'm not in New England freezing my butt off, I make my residence in Sherman, just south of Denison. Happily, the KAty depot and office buildings are still standing- sadly, nothing remains of the car shops, or of the east end of Ray Yard. DGNO swaps cars and a unit rock train out at Denison with UP, and about 16 freights roll thru Ray Yard daily.

Didn't take Borgrail long to assimilate the Katy.....
