Here are some more photos of Carlos' excellent Scenicruiser buses. He even includes the decals with them. I used spray cans to paint them. The only brushwork was on the tires and bumpers. I used pigmented ink markers for the windows. If you are still using paint brushes to do this , please STOP. The markers will make your life much easier. Much less agita. N scale B&O yellow stripes were used on the buses to add additional detail.
Jim, Great looking fleet! Nice paint jobs. Who makes the NYNH&H bus? Salem eh, my daughter likes to visit Salem. Scott
Hi, Scott The NH bus is also a Carlos creation. It comes with his set of 4 20's-30's trucks. The NH decals are mined from my seemingly endless supply of n-scale NH MOW decals from Microscale. The CMR school bus decals comes with enough material to complete 2 of Randy Browns' short school buses. It conveniently had the Witch City of Salem as one of the various towns included in the set. The stop sign and safety stripes are also part of the set. Jim
Revisiting this post and I am just thinking about how grateful we are for the fact that someone like Carlos Pinto, from Portugal of all places, steps up and produces some really excellent vehicles that we have long needed and will help take Z-scale to the next level. And then of course credit to Jim the artist!
Jim, What vehicles come in the set of four 20's-30's trucks. Do I just email Carlos and ask for that set? Thanks, Scott
Hi, Scott It is actually a set of 5 20's-30's vehicles. 2 flat bed/dump trucks, the bus, a covered delivery van and a tanker truck. The set is $38.00 and is still available at the moment. Merry Christmas. Jim
Jim, I sent an email to Carlos. Who makes the pigmented markers you use for the windows? I have looked back through your posts and have not seen one where you mention it. I may have missed it. Thanks, Scott
Hi, Scott The brand I am using is Faber-Castell. 8 Pitt Artist Pens. They range from XS to 1.5mm. The set costs about $20.00. Jim
Just received my order of 1920s-30s trucks, with an extra fordor thrown in! You guys are correct, the detail is very nice. Can't wait to paint. Scott
