I have a question about the toasters. Are these units still in service on Amtrak?

Here in New York City, I see plenty of what looks like AEM-7s at Sunnyside Yard (both NJ Transit and Amtrak) and on occasion when I drive across the Triboro Bridge I see Amtrak ones going over the Hell Gate Bridge enroute to/from Boston. But as I understand it there are some differences between the AEM-7's and ALP44s or whatever they are calling those now so I don't know exactly what they are. :D

Definitely no more E60s around here though.

I'm in Great Neck.. Still commute into the city for work though. :shade:

Back when I lived in Queens and took the #7 IRT to work, I'd see Sunnyside action every day. Can't say I miss the commute though! :D

Nice! I'm in Lindenhurst. My main place for train action used to be Babylon station, until a cop came and took my film.

Yes. My commute takes me on Route 50 in Maryland next to the Washington D.C. end of the NEC. I see AEM7, HHP8, Acela, the occasional Genesis loco and the MARC commuters on a regular basis. The route also passes under a CSX bridge and about once every 2 or 3 months I luck out and I see locos crossing the bridge just as I pass under.
