After more than 1 year, I have finally decided on a layout and finished building the bench work. I tossed down the track quickly to run some trains and it seems to be working out good. The room is 136” x 110”. I had an entry door, window and closet door that limited the layout to 136” x 70”. While it is not the "dream" layout due to space limitations, it is going to bring thousands of hours of enjoyment. My daughter is already coming up with ideas for structures and landscaping. Here are a few pictures I took this morning.

    1. A poair of Burlington Northern/C&S SD40's.
    2. Burlington GP35's and SD40's on these trains.
    3. A little of the old and new. CB&Q GP9 and a BNSF SD40-2 with the new logo.
    4. CB&Q F3A/B set on this passenger train.

    Here are a few more:

    5. CB&Q F3A/B and CB&Q GP9.
    6. Every railroad needs some run through power so I added Rio Grande GP40-2, Norfolk Southern GP38-2, Western Maryland/Chessie GP40-2, CSX GP38-2 and Finger Lakes Railway B23-7. I have a few more to add such as Conrail, Southern Pacific, and high hood NS and Southern locomotives. Also add Western Pacific, Northern Pacific, Great Northern.
    7. 1 of the 3 tiger striped SD60's.

Looks like you're off to a good start. Any layout, regardless of size, is better than no layout at all! I've had to settle for a small switching layout to tide me over till more space becomes available.

Do you have a track plan to post?
