They don't have any right now - or I am fairly positive they don't have any, but you can try Pacific Scale Rail in Vancouver (actually New Westminster). I know they were demoing them for a very long while. The will have a source to order them for you. www.pacificscalerail.com
Ron; I took the time to build a mock up of an HO scale set up on a board with two switches. Installed the air cylinders as recommended by the instructions. Set up the air system from my shop and through my airbrush connections. WAH LAAA it worked perfectly the first time I turned on the air. Ran a few loco moves and switched to my hearts content. No problems. I wanted to take the setup the the club meeting last night, but we do not have air set up yet!!! (But) I had a half used air canister from my early air brush days, this container is only the size of a 16 oz soda can. Hooked it up and went on to the meeting. The demo went very well and the suprising thing was the air in the container never ran out even after all the members "had to try it". The comparison of cost is also a factor. I only got a small "kit" for starters, including postage was 33.00 US. Two cylinders, a air switch or diverter, various hose (tubing) connection and fifty feet of tubing. This was enough to assemble an operating set of switches. Carl
I have heard of air switches before, but have never seen one. Does anyone have a photo that shows how they are put together?
It was my intention to take and send some construction pix of this enterprize, but in the excitement - - I forgot. I will take some as soon as possible and post them. Sorry Carl
Go to the Del-Aire Products web site and see them for yourself. You can also download datasheets on how to install them on your layout.
Hey Carl, So how is the Del-Aire experiance after a couple of weeks of use? Are you still happy with the machines, and would you buy more? Thanks Ron
One quick word. I am going to replace all Inaccessible electric switches with the Delair air switch. The control is I feel amazing. Carl
Look on page 3 of The Inspection Pit for this same Topic, on AUGUST 14, 2002 and there is some additional discussion there on the use of AIR POWERED switch machines.
