For those such as myself that are standing on the edge of the diving board and deciding to jump into airbrushing you might want to check out this months edition of Fine Scale Modeler. While browsing at the local bookstore today I came across the May 2005 issue of Fine Scale Modeler which actually has a good article on casting your own resin parts. However, this month's issue also contains an insert covering the Basics of Airbrushing Models. It covers the basics from painting, selecting paint, troubleshooting, and cleaning your airbrush. For those of you such as myself who are just trying to get into this part of model railroading this insert is a good basic tutorial. I've never bought this magazine before but it was also neat to see a different type of modeling and some gorgeous work. Joe
Joe, thanks very much for the heads up. I bought a used airbrush 10-15 years ago and have used it rarely and poorly because I am self-teaching (with a LOUSY instructor). I'll pick up FSM tomorrow to try and learn how to use it correctly.
Guys- Please remember there are many different brands and types of airbrushes. Now, there are many more "house" brands available, as well.
