I'm new to trainboard so I wanted to share a little layout progress. I began my current layout in late July. Here's a video. I am modeling the Alabama, Tennessee, and Northern. (For those who may not be familiar with the AT&N's history, here's a link: http://www.abandonedrails.com/Alabama_Tennessee_and_Northern_Railroad) More specifically, I'm modeling a present-day AT&N; as if the AT&N had been restored, put back into operation, and extended. With a name like, "Alabama, Tennessee, and Northern," I believe John T. Cochrane intended to extend the line well beyond Reform, AL into Tennessee and points "northern." Therefore, the segment of the AT&N that I'm modeling (a segment that was never built) is a freelance extension of the line from Reform, AL, northward to an interchange with BNSF at Sulligent, AL. As for structures, my one and only scratch built model is my model of the Sulligent Cotton Oil Company building. At one time, the building housed the world's largest, single-building cotton gin. To this day, it stands as the most prominent railroad landmark in Sulligent, AL along with a nearby water tank. Here's a video showing my progress of the building and water tank on my last layout.
