My wife and I, with a group from Central Indiana, including 6 friends, toured Alaska by "Luxury Motor Coach" ("it is not a bus" according to the guide ;^) in July 2014. On much of the trip, we were on roads paralleling the Alaska Railroad. And on our trip from Denali to Anchorage, we ditched the LMC and traveled all day on the Alaska Railroad's Southbound Denali Star:

I am posting here because I took, and have posted on my WEBSITE, many pictures of the Alaska Railroad's equipment and operations, both passenger and freight. While it will require that you sort through some pictures of glaciers and orcas, there are plenty of rail fan photos of trains that most of us don't see every day. I even got a couple of pictures of a surprise commodity swap with the Northbound Denali Star and also, of a Movie Star locomotive!

I am interested in your comments.

Wow. Quite the tour you folks made!

Reference your moose photo- No, they aren't too friendly. When in the wild, never even come close to them. They are fast and always very aggressive.
