Here is a photo of my scratchbuilt Alco C-630 Hi-Ad truck side frames. I started with the Bachman Spectrum SD40 sideframes and milled the frame to fit the Atlas C-630 body. There is a set of these frames cast from my masters available on E-Bay right now in the Nscale detail parts section of Model Railroad items. The wheelbase is the same as the Atlas SD50 truck. This is my 3rd attempt to replicate this truck in Nscale( you don't want to see the other 2 attempts, ugh). Hi-Ad truck sideframe Nscale 001.jpg

Very nicely done. Certainly more accurate than the conversion I use from the old Con-cor sideframes onto Flexicoil sideframes.

I never realized, but an SD40 and C630 are close in distance between truck centers. I'm surprised I haven't seen this before. Would a Kato SD40 mechanism also work?

Made from old Concor c636 sideframes.

There was a thread somewhere on how to do them. I think I used sd40 sideframes and removed some of the detail and then had to cut up the old concor frames and glue them on. If there had been a set readily available then I would have bought them instead.
