Alco PA, D&H #16 is on the move to its new home in Texas. As of 4/4 the carbody on one flatcar and the trucks on another are both eastbound on MRL. However, the flat with the trucks has been seperated from the flat with the carbody. My understanding is that the trucks are already in Laurel while the carbody is still in Missoula or just left there recently.

Hmmm, so the Smithsonian doesn't want it now?

The Smithsonian donated it to the Museum of the American Railroad in Texas which will be doing the cosmetic restoration.

Heads up to the Colorado folks! The PA finally left MRL out of Laurel today 4/15/11 on the LAUDEN around 1500, the lead unit was BNSF 1117. For those with tracing capabilities it is on flat car BNSF 585184.
