    Welcome aboard rustedloco!

I believe they all do a good job, with the higher numbered models being best at it.
Oddball Decals is one decal manufacturer using ALPS for their product line.

Unless one of our members has an ALPS printer, I suggest checking Yahoo! Groups for an email list. Registration is free and they have at least one ALPS-specific list.

Most of the articles I've seen about the Alps printer and decals refer to the model 1000. But any model that prints dry ink the same way the model 1000 does should work.

Sorry, I also forgot to mention that Micro Mark has a line of decal paper that includes paper for color laserjet or other dry image printers and different paper for ink jet printers. The ink jet paper requires a fixative spray be applied before cutting the decals apart, to prevent smearing. This same spray can be used on the dry ink paper to improve stability and reduce flaking off of the image. if you don't have any kind of color printer, but just want a few decals, prepare the image and take the image and the paper to a Kinko's or similar printing services establishment; they'll print it for you.
