It seems a lot of you already know what you're getting... and this weekends foto fun will be, I'm "guessing," one of the larger posts... So if you feel like sharing, I'm sure there's people who want to know -- what are YOU getting for Christmas? As for me, I have no idea!!! Maybe some coal (that I'd use for gondola loads).
My highschool sweetheart asked me for some ideas. She won't reveal what she is up to. Mike. got the package. Thanks Steve
I have a good idea, as I've had some standing orders with George at Wig-Wag, and Jeanne shut me off a few weeks ago. But I didn't peek! And she'll have something else . . .
I know what I'm getting. Its red and yellow and silver and sleek and beautiful and says "Santa Fe" on the nose! Yee-haw!
Already got my gifts...a Canon 20D digital SLR and a BOUNCING BABY BOY delivered on the 16th!!! I think I'll probably be getting a Wig-Pak at some point (SP tunnel motor, some more syrup cars, and a couple of other misc. items) but it's not really a Christmas present, just a standard order, unless Deb wraps it in paper and a bow. ;-D
A day off. Deb's taking me to dinner and I'm taking her to a movie. I get the better deal as I can eat more than she can watch.
Got a gift certificate from Micro-Mark, two weeks after sending them an order. Seriously, though, since our children left home, my wife and I no longer exchange Christmas presents. Will get some "Rust-All" with my Micro-Mark gift certificate.
Hey Doug, congratulations! Rumor has it a few undec GP-7's may be in my stocking for my first foray into custom painting - ATSF Zebras and SP Black Widows. (I may live to eat these words, but...) after all, how hard can one color - black - be to paint?
4 DVD's I know one is The Trains of Lafayette(spelling) from Railroad Productions and another is CSX and NS in Memphis II by Big E productions. I have no idea of what the other 2 are. If I include all the stuff that I bought this weekend (from me to me ) the a SP U30C, a KCS automax, a micro trains 89ft TOFC with KCS trailer, a copy of NSR, CTC board and a book called The Elements of Train Dispatching Vol 1
I haven't the foggiest notion. In fact, my wife said last night she finally got my last gift, and she said she had to look all over the country... Now I don't have even a clue....
Something from the train store. My wife snuck off on our last foray there and later a present appeared under the tree.
Well, I don't know everything under the tree, but I do know that I am getting a C&O "Berkshire" instead of the Kanawha I wanted. The e-seller has a 7-day return policy, so after all the grief posted, we agreed to test run it, and we put about 3 hours on it. I think I will be able to get it to pull the 6 pullmans I intended to pull with it, so I kept it for NTrak running. It is wrapped and under the tree. The Atlas Shay will probably wind up being one of my birthday presents. (my birthday is next week.) But the best present of all is a new train buddy, my first grandson, who is due any time. The doctor says everything is ready and he can be born "any time" now. I'm a lot more excited about "little Jeff" than I am about any old train!
