I would like to know where I could find the Genesis dummy for O scale. I've looked at local train shops but they don't have one except the slave locomotive. I don't know if I should order it or gut a motorized one.

Welcome to TrainBoard.com [IMG] . What are you looking for? Two rail or three rail? Williams and MTH make them, and I believe MTH had some dummies offered earlier this year in their cataloge. If you are looking for two rail, I don't even know of a powered version.

Its three rails. I bought the motorized one from Williams so I'll check it out there and I look through MTH's Website but I rather get the dummy though Williams. Do you know the Website for Williams? Thanks

    Great Mark,

Glad to hear you found one. So, what are you pulling behind these units? If you have some pictures, be sure to share now. [IMG] If you need some help let me know and I will see what I can do to help.

I'm pulling Super Liners and passenger baggage cars behind the Genesis. I'm looking for a good deal on the MTH Z-400 transformer. My Genesis engine is an electric eater. It has twin motors and I have to fix the electronic air horn. I'm getting a computer scanner so when I get it, I'll show you some pictures of the engines.

My old Williams Trainmaster is power hog too. I would have figured that by now Williams would have started using motors that need less power. I was wondering about the MTH 400. What have you heard about them? I'm in need of a bigger AC transformer myself.

Looking forward to seeing your Amtrak train shots when you get them scanned.

Sorry Greg, Its the MTH Z-4000. I copied and pasted the paragraph from MTH:

If you want to max out your power potential, the 400-watt Z-4000 is the most powerful transformer to receive the UL-Listing for the model railroading hobby. The Z-4000 has two separate throttles to let you power two different tracks, and it has two fixed power outputs you can use for operating accessories. A single Z-4000 will power a lot of layout!

    400 Watts (1) 14v 3amp fixed output, (1) 10v 3amp fixed output, (2) 180watt track outputs

Here is the Link to visit:

Mark, thanks for the clarification. I hadn't heard of a Z-400, but knew about the Z-4000. It sounds like it will power the most hungry of engines.

I have a MTH video that features the Z-4000 and they really put it to the test. All I need now is the 4-8-8-4 Big Boy when I get the Z-4000. That will test the power of the 4000. [IMG] [IMG]
