There is some very limited information at the California Department of Transportation web site. ------------------ Ed Harrison Ed's Mental Cab Ride
This is the only one I have seen, in Bakersfield in February 1998. A bit dark, as we were facing the sun. ------------------ Alan Curtis. Moderator. Member #12 The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.alancurtismodels.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery
Amtrak California owns 11 locomotives. 2001-2009 are F59PHI, bought new from EMD. 2051-2052 are B32-8WH, originally Amtrak 501 and 502. When Amtrak ordered the 20 P32-8's, The state of California, Caltrans, paid for 501 and 502. They were delivered in the "Pepsi Can" scheme, with a "Caltrans" logo on the cab side. Shortly after, they were repainted in the Amtrak California Scheme. [This message has been edited by Interwest (edited 21 January 2001).]
Great scheme, but I still like the Surfliners better! ------------------ Craig Martyn Best Looking Models Around Custom detailing AND N scale detail parts. BLMA N Scale Detail Parts BLMAinfo@aol.com
