I went to Ban Pha Chi Jct. a few days ago for a mini dose of trains LPG train waits for clearance. (For the sake of public health, please do not smoke in this area) A string of boxcar awaitng its uncertain fate Aww, it's a hot day, I'd take a nap for a while.
An oil train is about to make a pick-up A train bound for Tapan Hin station takes the starter signal Train 106 blows by
Excellent pictures! More great photos. Dogs must like train watching. That is a LOT of LPG. Your railway seems to run long trains. Are those boxcars in use? You say 'uncertain fate', does that mean they may be scrapped?
Before i take train 112 back to Ayuttaya, I almost witnessed a fatality when a person decided to cross the track in front of thundering Pa Sak Chonlasit Dam excursion train. Luck was still with this guy though, when the security guard bolws his whistle a really huge dose of whistilng from the engineer and passengers hollering at him to step back, he was saved. Man oh man, when will you learn, train can't stop like car mg: Finally, train 112 comes and pick me up and this concludes my little railfan trip P.S. The train 901 (Steam excursion) suffered mechanical fault near Ban Pho station. On the return leg we got a diesel pulling us back home. I decided to re-do this trip on 26/03/2007 just fo the kicks in my neck.
Those boxcar was taken off the service and stored for a while, some have met the torch, some were sunk as artificial reef, some got converted to flatcar for intermodal service or bought to use as shed. And for a comment on long train, yes, SRT sometime do run a long one but not frequent due to passing siding lenght.
Great pictures and an excellent commentary. I remember those good days in Thailand..Land of Perpetual Summer!
