I wasn't quite happy with the barn's I made, so I did a little more research and came up with Andy's Tivio Ranch:

I had to take out a couple stalls to enlarge the others, as horses need room to turn around. Also , since the weather is warmer out here, I don't need outside doors, but I do need a paddock on each stall, and a tack room:

My wife's sister had a hand working at their horse ranch named Andy. He passed away a couple years ago, and left his Tivio named Big Red behind. I built this ranch in his memory, as I'm sure he always had dreams of owning his own ranch some day:

Andy got his dream today, on my Timesaver module, and with a loft full of hay, and lots of hands to fix the place up, Andy's Tivio Ranch will be open for business first thing in the morning. NFQHA Quarter Horse Stud Service, Tack, Feed, Hay, it's all available at Andy's:

The Hired Hands are busy fixing the place up, as the previous owners let to old Feed and Farm Supply place run down in the years before they retired. It's nice to see the place get a new lease on life:

There's Big Red in the stall. He's a little giddy today. Someone's been fixing the roof all day, and that hammering is just a bit much for ol' Red:

Well, we're ready for business. The power company came by and turned on the electricity, the hay delievery came on time, and now the loft is full, and the barn is cleaned out and ready for early morning customers:

It's a good thing the electricity was turned on today, cause the guys look like they will be busy well into the evening finishing up all the last minute tasks. Andy's Tivio Ranch:

edit: I spelled Tiveo wrong, It's Tivio.

Thanks for the kind words. The real Big Red, the Tivio Quarter Horse that my wife and her sister were left when Andy passed away is still at the ranch:

The real ranch is not a farm supply store, but they do offer stud service. What they do most is the carriage service, which I will have to build in another project.

They have lots of carriages. They have a Visa Vis Carriage:

And another neat one, this Panel-Boot Victoria which was a Vienna Street Taxi over 100 years ago. It has also been used in Hollywood Movies:

There is also a Skeleton-Boot Victoria that is over 100 years old:

The girls also have a bunch of wagons that they do things like hay rides and stuff with:

This carriage is classified as a wagon, called a Natural Wagon:

This is the girls newest wagon, the Wagonette:

And they have assorted Hay Wagons:

When I get around to building Gilroy Carriage Service, I will include models of all the above carriages and wagons, as well as Andy BBQing a feast!

Unfortunately, I have no pictures of Andy, but he was a big man, and when he was not with the horses, he was in front of a big barrel BBQ fixing up something good!

    Off/on topic
But here in Norway we do just the same thing.
Only the sled has skis in the winter time. :D

This picture is from a customer off mine and their Riding School.

    Rob,
The barn looks Awesome... The hay looks real in the pic with the lights ON... I hope Mr. Red does not climb up. Did you stick all the vertical posts for the fence one by one? I got to check this out in person.

Hi Kim, I made a 1 piece fence, and then used peel & stick posts over the fence boards.

I used your idea of broken boards and holes to mae the barn look older, and I also used Lionel's idea of holes in the roof, but this time I have a guy fixing them with a stack of shingles. Here is the guy fixing the roof:

You can also see the water tubs in each of the paddocks. The paddock is so they have somewhere to do their thing, and drink water, so it don't get all wet and stinky inside the stalls.

Those are nice carriage pictures Torsja and JR, we need to get models of all these wagons, sleds, and carriages. Everywhere you see wagons like these, a train line is sure to be passing through. [IMG]

I cut blocks of basswood, dipped them into polly s flat finish, then dipped them into yellow grass color ground foam and left to dry.
